With the operating system already installed it generally takes me one to two hours to install all the necessary programs and configure Vista for a computer.

Windows Vista Upgrades, installations, and file transfers can be a tricky if your system does not meet certain criteria.  Here is a link to the systems requirement for Windows Vista.

Devices such as printers, camera's, and scanners may not work if a driver is not compatible with Vista. Devices that use serial connections must also be looked at carefully before upgrading to Windows Vista.

In addition many laptops and pc's that meet Vista's minimum requirements will be horribly slow unless certain functionalities of Vista that are not needed are disabled.

Please follow the links below to find out if your computer and devices are ready to make the jump to Windows Vista.

Below are some recommended steps to take before you purchase Windows Vista. If you have any questions about Windows Vista please feel free to contact me by clicking here.

1. Download and run the Microsoft Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor. The upgrade advisor can be found by clicking here.
2. Figure out which version of Windows Vista you need. For the everyday home user that just checks e-mail and surfs the internet I recommend Windows Vista Home Edition.  For any business user I recommend Windows Vista Business edition because of the increased networking options.
3.  Whether you end up with a upgrade or full version make sure your computer is set up properly with anti-virus, anti-spyware, and all of the necessary operating system settings before you start using your computer.
